VASSILIA KAGA / GR
Vasilia is a queer feminist curator and performer with a BA in Communication, Media, and Culture, specializing in Cultural Management from Panteion University. She has contributed, whether in front of the camera, behind it, or in the realm of curating, to diverse artistic and underground projects in Greece, Germany, and Sweden. The majority of these projects were run by collectives and mainly aimed at highlighting marginalized artistic perspectives. In 2017, Vassilia launched Aye Mari in Berlin, an exhibition series exploring queer curating as a self exploration. Using their curation as a form of practice, they seek to critique and transform the conventional white cube into a space that fosters healing for both friends and community.
She is a recipient of the ARTWORKS SNF Artist Fellowship Program 2020/21. Beyond their work in the arts, Vassilia embarked on a journey of personal and professional growth by delving into Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. This dual pursuit of art and psychotherapy reflects their dedication to holistic healing and transformative practices. Vassilia Kaga stands at the intersection of creativity, activism, and self-discovery, and their work continues to make a meaningful impact on the artistic landscape, pushing boundaries and promoting inclusivity.
